I started my night watching "The Sopranos"(Sunday 8 HBO) and while it was yet another episode that built towards an exciting next episode, the next episode finally looks great. I have been getting tired of Sopranos while for the last 3 seasons it has been building towards a climax that never happens. But now, knowing that there are only 5 episodes left in the series, I have faith that David Chase will make it a ending fitting of a great show.
Then the night got a little better when I watched "Entourage"(Sunday 9 HBO) mostly because it was great seeing Carla Gugino in a bathtub. Although the episode really didn't go anywhere, it was still funny and is always entertaining.
But then I stumbled on something that made my night fantastic (in this case, I don't mean StumbleUpon which is a great Firefox add-on). My DVR's description for this week's "American Idol"(Tuesday 7 FOX) says, "Bon Jovi mentor the six remaining finalists before they perform songs from the band's repertoire"!!!!
I have been looking forward to this day for weeks, actually 7 weeks since they announced that Bon Jovi would be one of the mentors. I had recently accepted the fact that it wasn't going to be all Bon Jovi songs, but rather a "rock night" with one or two Jovi songs thrown in, but now the possibilities seem endless (I still wouldn't mind someone pulling out "Every Rose").
I am sure they are going to lean towards the newer Jovi, but the classics are where the best selections are going to come from. First of all, if anyone sings "I'll Be There For You" I immediately declare them winner (Unless its Phil, he is already too far behind). But after looking through my Bon Jovi collection, here are some other songs that I would like to see everyone sing.
Blake-"Blaze Of Glory"(This will get him through for sure!) "You Give Love a Bad Name" "Have A Nice Day"
Jordin-"Livin' On A Prayer" "Thank You For Loving Me" "Who Says You Can't Go Home"
Chris- "Wanted Dead Or Alive" "It's My Life"(probably a little too karaoke) "Lay Your Hands On Me"
Phil-"Never Say Goodbye" "I'd Die For You"(bad choice but I'd love to hear it, and it fits him) "Something For The Pain"(would be a great send off song for him)
Melinda-"Keep The Faith" "Bed Of Roses" "Always"
LaKisha-"Hearts Breaking Even"(Almost made for her) "I Want You" "Welcome To Wherever You Are"
What are your predictions? Did I miss any obvious ones? Did I give any songs to the wrong person?
For some reason during my Bon Jovi research I decided it would be a good idea to start drinking, and now its almost 3 AM and I actually have to be up in a little more than 4 hours from now. Luckily I have some AH+ in the fridge to help me recover from a night of pointless drinking, but that got me thinking about an official "taste AH+" event.
I am assuming that most people will be enjoying some cocktails this Saturday since it is both Cinco De Mayo and the Kentucky derby (Mint Julips and Margaritas, sticky sweet, from my head to my feet). So I would like everyone to go the the AH website, find a store close to you that sells this fantastic Anti-Hangover beverage, buy some and then really give it a thorough test. Personally, I fully believe in the powers of AH, and I have had several people try it (Watch Jansky in this video and know that he felt fine the next morning after having an AH) and they agree that it really does work. So if you don't drink as much as you may want to only because you fear the hangover, give AH+ a try and it may just change your life. I will be checking in with you next Monday for feedback on how your AH test went and I would love to hear from some sceptics.
If you somehow lost touch with "Heroes"(Monday 8 NBC) after its long layoff, I have to alert you to the fact that this episode will be epic. Catch up if you've fallen behind, and then watch the great preview.
