You have a week to get the new TV Guide before next week's "My Name Is Earl"(Thursday NBC 7). Not only is the episode "super-sized", but it is also in "laugh 'n sniff" (there is a scratch and sniff card in TV Guide which will supply the scents). If you can't get your hands on the TV Guide, NBC has put together a list of the items you can use as substitutes. Next Thursday will have super-sized episodes of Earl, "The Office", "Scrubs" and "ER", if you don't watch these live (it is sweeps, so everything will be new) I hope you at least DVR these excellent shows.
Neilsen Media Research, the group that does the Neilsen TV ratings, has released DVR ratings for the first week of April. I am surprised that there hasn't been more focus on DVR viewership since so many people are able to DVR a show and watch another live. Hopefully this will give the networks a better look at the real ratings for their shows. There are many ways for people to watch TV shows (live, DVR, streaming on network sites and iTunes) and those all should be factored into total viewership for all shows. Of course the advertisers only care about each individual format, but at this point it should be easy enough to judge.
