"My Name Is Earl"(Thursday NBC 7) is back and we will have 4 more straight weeks of new episodes. Check out this hilarious commercial of Earl as a telenovela here, and if you missed it you can watch tonight's episode here.
Last nights "Lost"(Wednesday ABC 9) finally made it so that I am okay with the first 6 episodes of the season focused on the Others instead of our Survivors. The show has been on a great run of fantastic episodes and the show may be as good as ever right now. I love the fact that even after an episode about one of the others, we still know just as little about why they are actually here and what they are really up to. Plus how great was the preview which let us know that there are "5 shocking episodes until the cataclysmic season finale, this is the beginning of the end." If you have missed a recent episode, the last 4 are available here.
The "Friday Night Lights" finale was great and wrapped up a great first season, if this show could get some viewers(and the show really should appeal to just about everyone), it has a chance to become a hit. Check out this article about the finale, it has some spoilers so be careful if you haven't watched it yet, but it has some great observations about the show. If you decide you're ready to give it a shot, the whole season will be available for free online.
"Black Donnellys" is now available online only, watch the newest episode here. This is a very good show and the new episode is better than the last one was. This show has created some great characters and placed them in the beginning stages of "taking over" the neighborhood. The 4 brothers are starting to each find their place in the neighborhood as they constantly push their boundaries. If this show was on HBO or FX, it would be much more popular, but it never found an audience on network TV. I hope NBC gives this show another chance, maybe even relaunch it on Bravo pushing the whole "catch the show that critics raved about" angle.
I am hoping to catch Grindhouse this weekend, and while the action may be silly and way over the top it seems like a movie that can only truly be enjoyed in a theater. I am excited to take in the whole experience that Tarantino and Rodriguez have created to go with their grindhouse movie double feature complete with missing reels, screen pops and fake intermission trailers. It makes me even happier that I can enjoy this 3 and a half hour experience while enjoying good food and some beers.
I was going to make a joke like "with all of the concern about the destruction of Earth, I had a friend of mine make this little video", or something like that, but I couldn't do it by the time I finished watching this intense and well done global warming/oil video. This video is just a part of Leo's new campaign to make a change.
Sterling Planet is another way for us to make strides towards renewable energy sources being more prevalent. If you live in areas of Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island or Maryland you can keep your same energy company and pay anywhere from $4 to $20 to upgrade your service cleaner renewable electricity sources. If you don't live in these areas, you can sign up for their national program and pay $15 a month to support your choice of 100% renewable resources.
On Sunday many MLB players are going to wear number 42 to recognize the 60th anniversary of Jackie Robinson breaking the color barrier. I think its great that every team will be involved in this tribute, with some teams, including the Dodgers, having every player wearing his number. I wish a few more individual white players were standing up to wear the number since this landmark moment is very important for all of us.
If you are one of those people that like to watch an entire series from the beginining when it is in reruns, then I highly suggest "Buffy The Vampire Slayer". Buffy starts with the pilot episode on Monday morning at 6 on FX. Most people dismiss this show as silly, but for several seasons it was an excellent show and I think if you give it a chance you will really like it.
